Global Game Jam 2014
My second game jam then was one year later. The Global Game Jam 2014, but this time I was in one of the locations in Dublin. The topic for that year was the following quote: "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are". When came together in a team we figured out, that we did not have anybody that was specialized in graphics. But since we had two very ambiguous sound designers we decided to build a game around sound. And so we ended up with a game without any visuals, designed to be played by a blind person just as well, if not better than by a normal seeing person. Blindfold was the outcome, and again for 48 hours of work I am very happy.
"Blindfold" is the outcome of my second game jam, the Global Game Jam 2014 in Dublin. The topic was "We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are". It was quite a bit more difficult to come up withv an idea. But we ended up having no artist, and that was when I remembered a game that was made the previous year, a game for blind people. And I thought that it would be a really cool idea, and after a few hours we already had the basic concept of "Blindfold". It was really challenging to make a game without any further visuals, but I we did pretty well, so enjoy playing it! You may close your eyes if you want to.
You are thrown into the position of a blind person that gets kidnapped. Lucky for you though a young woman rescues you and tries to lead you out of your prison. You have to follow her voice and pay attention to the sound of your surroundings to escape. But be warned, you may not be alone. This game is completely Audio-Based, so plug in your headphones and game-pad and enjoy the experience.
